Fresh Dairy Games 2024 | Girls Football: Kawempe, Amus off to Semifinals as St Noa, Rines fight for Remaining Two Slots

The East African Schools Sports champions, Kawempe Muslim SS propelled to the semi finals of the 2024 Fresh Dairy Games underway at Standard High School Ndejje Campus.
The side to reach Semis, they have eliminated their immediate rivals, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga via 5-3 spot kicks following a goalless stalemate in the normal time.
Nakanjako Immaculate put her spot kick off target and handed Kawempe Muslim a boost and all her takers put the ball behind the net in the second quarter final.
“We know them, its a team that has been long in the game but to me it’s a tough game and we needed to give in our all, both teams had chances in the normal time, we wanted to kill the game in normal time, we never wanted to go in penalties, but it happened and now we’re organizing ourselves for the Semifinals and we expect to get something from this tournament. ” Said Moses Nkata, Kawempe Muslim SS Coach.
It has been a kind of revenge for Kawempe Muslim because they lost 1-0 against Martyrs in the Kampala regional finals.
The girls football powerhouse in Uganda will wait for the winner between St Noa Girls School and Boni Concilli.
Earlier in the day, Amus College thumped Sacred Heart from Gulu 5-0 in the first quarter final, Opisa Shayine bagged a hat-trick, Wanda Edina and Wandera Doren each scored in the one side game.
In the afternoon of Wednesday, Rines SS and Sheema Girls will be in for the third quarter final and in the evening, St Noa Girls School Zzana will battle with Boni Concilli.
The semi finals will be held on Thursday and the final on Friday.
