Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards: UNF Presidential Aspirant Ucanda Wins Lifetime Sports Achiever’s Accolade

The renown National Insurance Corporation Netball Club winning Manager, Jocelyn Ucanda wins the Lifetime Sports Achiever’s Awards, courtesy of Real Stars Sports Agency.
Every Tuesday of the new month, Real Stars Sports Agency in conjunction with Jude Color Solutions and Fortebet Uganda awards the best performers of every month.
On rare cases, the agency recognizes different individuals who have added value to the game of sport in the country and this month, Jocelyn Ucanda, the former She Cranes Manager received the award to which she found it as a surprise.
“At this moment, I didn’t expect an award, I thought I was been invited to award other people but now I am winning a real Lifetime award, it’s an ultimate for me. I didn’t count myself as among those being selected but I really appreciate and value this so much, it came at a moment I didn’t expect it. So I really thank you Mr. Isaac Mukasa and sponsors of this award.” Said Jocelyn Ucanda.
Ucanda is an aspiring Uganda Netball Federation president, the team manager to preside over She Cranes for two consecutive world Netball cups, that’s 2015 and 2019.
She also commented on the state of Netball in Uganda.
“We all know that Netball went down due to poor governance but there is light at the end of the tunnel, it has been organized by the normalization committee, right now we’re seeing hope because there has been communication that there is going to be a meeting to discuss about the constitution and election roadmap, so there is hope. The future is bright, we shall rise and shine again.” She commented.
The CEO of Real Stars Sports Agency, Isaac Mukasa revealed as to why this time round they have awarded Ucanda.
“The lifetime achievement award went to Madam Ucanda, since i joined media many years ago, I don’t know any women who has helped the game of Netball in Uganda her, many players passed through her hands; the likes of Mary Nuba, Peace Proscovia, so we saw it important to award her.
On the same event at Lazo Restaurant Kololo, Babirye Lydia crowned the best performer in basketball category, John Sserunjogi took that of Boxing with Ssenyonjo Julius winning the football accolade.
