Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards: Halima Nakaayi, Shamika, Other Two Voted the Best of Feb
It’s a norm for Real Stars Sports Agency and it’s partners in Fortebet Uganda, Canaan Investments and Jude Color Solutions to hold the awarding ceremony every Tuesday in the first week of the month, nothing changed, event today they awarded the best performers of the month of February at Route256 Restaurant Lugogo.
For disciplines, 12 stars were in contest but the real star from each discipline was announced today and they walked away with an accolade and cash prize money [Brown Envelope].
Fadilah Shamika Mohamed Rafi stood tall against her competitors in Brian Kasirye and Husinah Kobugabe, the 16 year old girl displayed a good performance in Thomas and Uber All Africa Senior Badminton Championship held at Lugogo Indoor Arena, she won five of eight games played and helped Uganda to reach finals, her with Tracy Naluwooza, they won the bronze medal in women doubles.
In football category, Yunus Ssentamu beat his teammate, Najib Yiga and URA’s custodian Nafian Alionzi while Halima Nakaayi who set a new national record with Winning the 800m under two minutes at De I’Eure of the World Athletics Indoor Tour held at Stade Couvert and she also shined in France, Nakaayi beat Jacob Kiplimo and Mercyline Chelangat in Athletics category.
In rugby, Joaquim Chisana of Heathens beat his teammate Innocent Gwoto and Nelson Mandela of RAMS.
Beatrice Ayikolu, the Uganda Olympic Committee General Secretary who was the guest of honor, thanked the Organizers and Sponsors for injecting money and time into promoting the sports industry in the country, Ayikolu who doubles as the General Secretary, Uganda Athletics Federation also revealed that it’s these Awards that motivates players the more to work hard.
Isaac Mukasa, the Real Stars Sports Agency CEO revealed that they are to make more changes and improvement in the coming editions.
“We said that every first Tuesday of the month, we do award the best performers and we did it today, expect to see more changes and improvement, hope today you have seen different arrangement and we are to continue improving. “
