Fido Dido Ceiling Collapses During Lunch Hour Prayers, Several Injured
Kampala: A Ceiling of one of the Buildings along Kampala Road had collapsed during lunch hour prayers and a number of worshippers are expected to be injured.
The building is that one used to house Fido Fido Ice Cream.
According to reports, no one has so far reported dead but the work of rescuing the victims has started.
At least 15 people have been pulled out of the debris of Fido Dido building .
The victims who are said to be critically injured have been rushed to Mulago hospital for further treatment as the search continues.
Most of People who were injured are of the House of Rest church.
Nkuubi Kenneth, one of the businessmen who operates in the building said a technician had climbed in the ceiling after power went off only to come down tumbling with the ceiling.
“The ceiling is very old. Five people died on spot before police arrived. I used my car to transport some of the victims to hospital,” told Daily Monitor.
