CAF CL: “We’re Going to Surprise Jwaneng Galaxy”, Neiva on His Maiden Continental Engagement with Vipers

Vipers Sports Club new head coach, Leo Neiva is optimistic and believes, his side is going to surprise Jwaneng Galaxy on Sunday.

Vipers SC and the Galaxy will face off on Sunday at the Lobatse Sports Complex in the first preliminary round of CAF Champions League.

The return leg will be played on 25th August, 2023 at the St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

Vipers SC coach Leo Neiva believes that his team is ready for the task.

“I believe in our capacity and preparations as a team and l believe we can surprise Jwaneng Galaxy FC,” Neiva told the Club website.

“And, we are here to try and win the game. And that’s why we are going to try and do our best.”

“Jwaneng Galaxy FC have had a good run in the CAF Champions League and three or four years ago they beat Tanzania’s Simba SC.”

The victor between the two will face one of Lesotho’s Djabal or South Africa’s Orlando Pirates.

The winner from the second round will advance to the competition’s group stages.

The Venoms qualified to the CAF Champions League group stages for the first time last season, then eliminating Olympic Real De Bangui (Central Africa) and TP Mazembe (DR Congo).

Vipers SC will be looking to make a better case at the CAF Champions League this season after collecting just two points in the group stages last campaign.
