Buganda Region Football Associations Holds Its 2023 Annual General Meeting
The 2023 Annual General Meeting of the Buganda Region Football Associations came off successfully on Saturday, 23rd September 2023, at Kavumba Conference Hall in Wakiso District Football Association.
The 10th of its kind by Buganda Region was attended by delegates from the Buganda Region Football Associations Districts, executive committee members, and chaired by Buganda Region Football Associations chairman, Andrew Kaweesa
On the side of the Federation (FUFA), Executive committee members, Rogers Mulindwa, who represented FUFA President, Sam Mpiima, who is also an executive committee member of FUFA, Associations CEO, Edgar Watson Suubi were in attendance.
“The 10th AGM of Buganda Region Football Associations has moved on well because we managed to pass a budget of Two Hundred Forty Four Million (244M) for 2024 financial year. A head of next season we have resolved to take Women Football as close as possible to local people up to zone level so as we make it possible for mass football in Buganda Region.”

In 2022/23 football season, Mukono District Football Associations registered he highest number of players (1022) in both 4th (487) and 5th (535) division followed by Wakiso DFA with 854 players, 423 in 4th and 431 in 5th division out of the 38 clubs in the two divisions.
Mityana DFA comes in the 3rd position with 525 players in both divisions. 14 clubs in 4th division has 251 players while 5th division has 274 players from 12 clubs.
Buikwe DFA registered 480 players from 24 clubs. 16 clubs which competed in 4th division registered 333 players while 5th registered 147 from 8 clubs.
Luweero DFA registered 423 players from 21 clubs, Kayunga DFA registered 337 players from 18 clubs which took part. Mubende registered 290, Mpigi DFA registered 286 players, Kyotera 272, Nakaseke 258, Kiboga 242, Lwengo 225, Masaka DFA 214, Bukomansimbi 211, Kasanda 197, Rakai 194, Kalungu 190, Nakasongola 100, Lyantonde 81.
In total, Buganda Region Football Associations registered 6503 players from 313 clubs both in 4th and 5th division
Five Districts did not take part in football that is Butambala, Gomba, Ssembabule, Buvuma and Kalangala are yet to embrace football activities organized under Buganda Region Football Associations.
Under technical development, Buganda Region Football Associations empowered 175 personnel with knowledge and skills in football development. In the courses, Five People were International participants while 170 were Ugandans.
30 people were empowered and graduated with CAF C, 35 with CAF D, 81 Beginners Coaching Courses and 29 were referees.
The assembly also passed a budget of 244,965,500/= shillings ahead of the 2024 financial year. Competitions will take the biggest portion (66,960,000/=) divided into Organization of competitions, Prize money, Referees mater and licensing.
Football development which has capacity building, Workshop and refreshers sessions will take 41,500,000/=, Administration will take 31,260,000/=, Governance takes 30,500,000/=, Regional Team (FUFA Drum Team) will take 25,000,000/=, Office of the Chairman 10,000,000/=, Marketing and Communication will take 8,000,000/= while Members will take 5,700,000/=
