Buganda Clans Receive Balls ahead of Preliminary Round Encounters, Thank BIFONEC For the Supporting Hand
The Bika By’Abaganda football and netball teams have on Friday received balls from the organizing committee as they are getting ready for the first preliminary round encounters slated for the end of this month.
The registered teams, their managers and sports heads received the balls on behalf of their clans and they thanked the organizing committee for always supporting the campaign.
In the meeting they had at Bulange Mengo in Kooti Ya Kisekwa on Friday morning, each clan has received four balls, two for netball and two for football to help them prepare for the anticipated 49th edition of the Bika By’Abaganda tournament.

While speaking to this website, the BIFONEC chairperson, Owek. Katambala Hajji Sulaiman Magala encouraged all the grands of Buganda to always storm the grounds where these games will be played to support their clans and he revealed that the more fans watch these games the chances for the tournament to get more support from private entities.
His Majesty officially opened the 49th edition of Bika By’Abaganda tournament, so I encourage all the clans to prepare well, the fixtures are already out and in that like today we have give the Bika balls and more are coming, since you all know that we got the sponsor, so I ask all the clan heads, the grands of Buganda to come and support their clans, the more you storm those Grounds, the more we bring in more sponsors, so it’s very important you come.” Says Chairperson BIFONEC Owek. The clans also thanked BIFONEC for thinking about them and them receiving balls is a big boost towards their preparations.
“I thank BIFONEC, for they have come out to give us balls, it’s a sign of boost to us and we promise to put up a good show this season, and the good thing, this season we are starting when the Leagues are in recess, that means we’re going to have all our players .” Says Ssenyondo Moses, head of marketing, Nte clan.
Over 100 balls were given today and according to chairperson, the Jerseys for the clans are also on the way.
The first preliminary round encounters will be held starting 30th May 2023 at four grounds; Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso, Buddo SS, Wankulukuku and Kawanda SS.
