 It was all joy and jubilation as Lugazi Football Club returned at their home in Mehta Stadium Lugazi after the side thrashed Buikwe Red Stars football club 4-0 in the Buganda Regional League on Sunday 6th, February 2022.

Lugazi Football Club who thumped helpless Manyangwa Football Club in their 2021/22 season at the same venue with same scoreline were requested by the stadium management to look for other alternative due to the fact that the stadium was being used with other activities. 

Target man, Gerald “Mwenda” Ogweti and Abdul Kalanzi both registered a brace on their names to guide home side to their 4th win of the season.

Kalanzi sent the hosts into an early lead when tapped in Gerald Ogweti`s cross from the right flank as early as six (6) minutes before Ogweti doubled the lead with 11 minutes to halftime break.

On return to second half, Buikwe Red Stars FC made numerous attacks but Lugazi FC man in the posts, Farouk Nswemu denied them on all occasions making fantastic saves.

Lugazi FC head coach, Dan Ssegawa introduced Martin Ssemudu for Farouk Banga three minutes into second half which cooled down pressure mounted on to them.

In 56th minute, Abdul Kalanzi with an assist from Moses Buga scored his second goal and third for Lugazi football club reducing chances of the visitors to earn a point. 

Seven minutes past an hour mark, Abdul Kalanzi paved way for Deogratius Ssentongo to make second change for Lugazi FC before James Ssentongo was brought in for Moses Buga.

In the game, center referee, Kavuma cautioned Rashid Ssemwogerere (29`), on the side of Lugazi Football Club, Sabule Lwandasa , Mike Ndera and Mahad Kabogoza on Buikwe Red Stars Football Club side.

Else where, Kajjansi United defeated Masaka City Sports Club by 1-0 scoreline courtesy of Marvin Nyanzi to maintain summit spot with six (6) points difference.

Kiyinda Boys football club ran mad to Young Simba football club in Mityana at Ssaza ground thrashing them 6-1 scored by Godfrey Kakooza Mande with an hattrick, Bright Adoa with a brace and Joseph Ssewali registering on the score sheet with a goal on his name.

 In Manyangwa, Simba Football Club defeated home side Manyangwa FC by 2-1 scored by Yusufu Kato and Richard Kato.
