FWSL: University is the Higher Level of Learning, She Corporate Reminds the Martyrs from Lubaga in League Opener

After two years of no play of normal league due to COVID-19 pandemic, the FUFA Women’s Super League returned two with four fixtures on different grounds.

For the first time in history between the two clubs, She Corporates the Campus girls today reminded the secondary School babies, Uganda Martyrs High School WFC that they are the big girls at MUBS Arena following a 2-0 home victory.

New signing, Nasongo Grace and Nambatya Favor scored the two goals for the Sharks in the 18th and 45th minutes respectively.

Uganda Martyrs who believes that this is their season, had the first sweet 15 minutes and had all the chances to put away for an early lead but we’re not clinical enough until Nasongo gave the hosts a lead as early as 18 minutes at the MUBS Arena that attracted a number of fans compared to previous fixtures.

In the 44th minute, the Nkugwa Rogers coached side had a chance again to level the matters before the break but the penalty awarded to them, Brendah Munyana failed to convert it, for wasting chances, Favor punished them with a strike in the 45th minute.

In the last stanza, the visitors lost concentration, could not play a free flowing football, them being on panic, it gave a higher chance for the hosts to enjoy the possession without pressure unto them.

The veteran Midfielder, Naome Nagadya, Cissy Nantongo controlled the center of the park giving no room for the girls to possession the ball.

This has been the first win for She Corporate against Uganda Martyrs since 2016/17 season.

“The game was not simple they gave us a strong challenge, they got a number of chances, they got a penalty and our keeper saved, we got two chances and we utilized them, and this win is so so vital and we really wanted it.” Hassan Isa, the full coach for She Corporate, he was elevated from goalkeeping to a full coach following the departure of Zzinda Ali.

Nabulobi Patience, the Uganda Martyrs skipper asserted that lack of concentration and coordination between their forward and midfield costed them the game but they are to go back to rectify the errors made.

“We failed to coordinate upfront, our strikers gave each other no chance to score but in the next game we shall rectify those mistakes.” Patience.

On match day two, She Corporate, currently the table leaders will again be at home hosting Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC while Martyrs will again be on road to Masindi visiting Lady Doves.

In other matchDay fixtures, UCU Lady Cardinals on road secured three points against Olila High, thanks to sole goal from Hasifa Nassuna, Lady Doves and She Maroons shared spoils with none scoring while Rines and Tooro Queens each scored once.

On Wednesday , Kawempe Muslim Ladies will be visiting Kampala Queens at IUIU Kabojja in the remaining match day one fixture.
