Kira United Football Club and Lugazi Football Club played to a one all draw in match day two of 2021/22 Buganda Regional League on Wednesday 5th, January 2022 at Kira Playgrounds.
Abdullah Ssenyonga sent hosts, Kira United FC into lead only 23 minutes of play on first half but Lugazi target man, Gerald Ogwet header, five minutes to full time rescued a point for his side.
Frank Rutangazwa set for Abdullah Ssenyonga who was well positioned and his thunder went back of the net past Lugazi FC man in between the goalpost, Shafiq Agele to send home fans into jubilation.
Henry Amasha coached side, Lugazi created a number of chances but Kira United goalkeeper, George Ssemakula was outstanding to save his side.
John Taban missed an open chance when George Ssemakula had missed clearing the ball but his scoring effort was cleared by Kira United captain, Livingstone Kaweesi in the first half.
In the second half, Henry Amasha made changes, introducing Isaac Tamale and Ronald Kidawalime for Martin Ssemudu and John Taban respectively to pile pressure on Kira United.
Kira United left back Sharif Ssejemba was shown matching orders by the center referee 20 minutes to the official fulltime minutes. Ssejemba was cautioned following his unsporting play against Lugazi FC team captain, Titus Lubega before he had another tackle over James Ssentongo which earned him a second bookable.
In the 78th minute, Kira United player Ivan Masango got a serious injury and was lifted off the pitch and rushed to hospital by a car to save his life.
The injury negatively affected the home side, Kira because players’ morale went down which in turn benefited the visitors.
Following continuous attacks from Lugazi finally they did break the jinx as Gerald Ogwet headed home Titus Lubega well taken corner from the left flank.
In the next engagements, Lugazi Football club will be home against neighbors, Lugazi Municipal Football club while Kira United visit Free Stars at UCU in Mukono.
Elsewhere, Buikwe Red Stars secured their first victory with a 4-1 away win over Synergy, Butema Soccer Masters earned their maiden point this season following a two all draw with Free Stars FC.
Lugazi Municipal at home at Mehta Stadium defeated Lugazi Nabugabo United by 2-0 score line while Seeta United away in Manyangwa came back victorious over home side Manyangwa FC by 2-1.
