Boxing: Vegas Lubega Back In The Ring

Today, Wednesday 14th, September 2022, at Lugogo, Ugandan Professional boxer, Vegas Lubega, has officially launched his ‘comeback’ fight against Mbaruku Kheri from Tanzania.

It has been approximately four years ever since Vegas stepped in a ring for a professional boxing bout.

Gloves and Glory Promotions have already confirmed that they are behind this fight as organisers, a fight set to take place on the 1st of October this year at the MTN Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Lubega has vowed to “crash” his Tanzanian opponent in what will be a fight for the WBU Intercontinental Cruiserweight Title.

“Though I have spent four years with out being in the ring, it doesn’t mean that am not training. Therefore, am fit for the fight and I am prepared,” Lubega said.

According to the organisers, the duel has been dubbed ” _Beyond the Boarders”_ .

During the 2002 Commonwealth Games, Lubega got a silver medal for Uganda, and also competed at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Geeece.

In his last fight in 2018, Vegas ‘crashed’ Kamara Nyilawila, also from Tanzania.

The six undercards before the main fight of the night are also well prepared, and these are:
