Bika Football: Preliminary Round Draws Held, Nkima Learn Opponent

Following the successful opening of the 49th edition of the Bika By’Abaganda netball and football competitions on Saturday 13th May 2023 at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku and was graced by His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the organizing committee has held the draws for the first and second preliminary round.

The preliminary round draws for football were held on Friday afternoon at Bulange Mengo and we’re guided by Head of technical Mansoor Kabugo.

Nkima who lost 3-1 to Ngabi Nsamba in the opener, they will start from the second round and will meet the winner between Nyonyi Ndiisa and Kayozi.

According to the draws, the first preliminary round will see Njovu hosting Nkula on Wednesday 24 May 2023.

On the same day, Njobe shall be taking on Nyonyi Nakinsige with games anticipated to take played at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku, Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Buddo SS or Kawanda SS.

This is so because the organizing committee is yet to decide on which grounds will be hosting the fixtures, there are more 3 grounds the committee looking up to.

The preliminary round encounters shall be looking for the seven qualified teams that will join the top 24 teams of last year and Ngabi Nsamba who got a bye to round of 32. 

The third round which is the round of 32, teams will again be drawn to get the best 16 that will be pitted in four groups of four teams.

For starters, this Edition’s turn up has been appealing and only Mpologoma and Kiwere are the only two clans that didn’t registration for the tournament.
