Bika Football: Group Stage Games Climaxes, Quarterfinalists Revealed
The 2022 Bika Bya Abaganda Football tournament group stage games climaxed on Thursday at four different venues.
The day had eight games at four venues, that’s at Kawanda SS, Buddo SS, Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium -Wakiso and Old Kampala SS playground.
The results from yesterday’s games didn’t change a lot at the table settings apart from commenting the qualifications of group table leaders.
Kkobe from Group D came out as the team that has collected the most points at group stage, they secured 16 points out of the possible 18 in six games, they commented their quarter finals qualification with a 1-0 win against Ndiga though both sides qualified, Male Joel scored the only goal for Kkobe.
Mmamba Namakaka propelled to quarters despite a one all draw against Omutima Omuyanja, Damulira Faizal scored for Mutima while Nsubuga Benson netted for Mmamba, the game was played at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium.
Despite a 5-4 lost against Kinyomo, Ffumbe secured the quarter final berth with 11 points. the nine goal thriller encounter saw Ffumbe’s goals coming from Kimuli Samson who scored a brace, Ntege Brian and Ssenoga Muhammad.
The goals that gave Kinyomo their only win in this group came from Kimuli Gerald, Kasozi Kennedy, these two score a brace each and Kagogwe Enock.
Mpindi and Lugave qualified from group B while Ngeye and Nte made it from group A.
Though they didn’t make it to the quarters, Ngooge came from two goals down to secure a point against Balangira following a two all draw at Old Kampala.
Kayondo Ronald and Ssempa Hudson own goal gave Balangira lead but in last minutes of the second stanza saw Ngooge rescuing a point through Kato Fred and Jjemba Sharif.
Mbogo managed a 3-2 win against Mmamba Kakoboza to end the edition with eight points, Nyanzi Ronald, Bugembe Isa and Nelson Ssenkatuuka scored for Mbogo while Kakoboza had its goals through Buule Warren and Kiberu Ismail.
At quarterfinals, Kkobe will take on Lugave, Ndiga to battle with Mpindi, Ffumbe and Ngeye to face off as Nte taking on Mmamba Namakaka, the date for this round yet to be communicated.
