Bika By’Abaganda Football Tourney 2022 Edition: Buganda to Inject in Over 100M

The Buganda Kingdom vowed to bring back the glory of Bika By’Abaganda football tournament like they did it to Masaza Cup.
On Tuesday, the Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, officially launched the 2022 Bika By’Abaganda football tournament at Bulange Mengo.
The prime revealed that the Kingdom is ready to uplift the tournament and they are going to inject in 130M shillings in this edition. He also argued Baganda to support their clans like they do it to masaza.
“The Kingdom is very serious on bringing back the glory of this tournament, and this year it has put 130M shillings to see that the tournament go on well, I argue the Baganda, go and support your clans, don’t sit at home and wait for results.” Said Katikkiro.
The format of play also changed, according the first arrangement, the clans were pitted in groups of six teams but this time but the organizing committee posted to change the format.
In this other format of knockout at the preliminary round, 24 usual clans were seeded.
That is the defending champions, Mboga, Mpindi, Abalangira, Kkobe, Ente, Ngonge, Lugave, Nsenene, Mpeewo, Enkima, Efumbe, Engabi Nsamba, Nyonyi Nakinsige, Ngaali, Ndiga, Nyonyi Ndiisa, Mamba Kakoboza, Mpologoma, Mamba Namakaka, Musu, and Butiko and Njovu are the 24 team seeded in the new introduced format.
The the remaining clans will go through two preliminary round and the qualified eight will join the 24 to make list of 32 teams.
The round of 32 also will appear as qualifying round for group stage which shall contain 16 teams to form 4 groups with 4 teams each.
The group stage will be played on a home and away basis as another qualification for the quarter finals.
The preliminary round one is scheduled to kickoff on 11the June 2022 as NGO taking on Mbwa at Kasana Play ground in Bulemeezi.
The Kabaka of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Muwenda II is to grace the opening game at Kasana playground Bulemeezi on 11th June 2022.
