Sand Cranes has managed to get back on truck with a narrow win over Neighbors Tanzania to register their maiden victory in the tournament underway at Saly Beach Soccer Stadium Senegal.

Uganda gained a lead of the game through Emmanuel Wasswa a goal enough to win the first period of the game.

Sand Cranes remained focussed as they went on to win the second period 2-1 and by the end of last period Uganda was up by a goal after a 3-4 score line.

Thanks to Isma Kawawulo’s brace to take his tally to 3 goals at the tournament,Swalley Ssimbwa was another player to add on Wasswa’s goal first goal.

Tanzania scored through Jaruph Rajab Juma who had a brace and Stephanie Wallis Napunalo but that wasn’t enough to earn The Taifa stars a result needed.

Tanzania will have tougher challenge to win over Senegal on Thursday 26th May and Uganda is just praying for Senegal win so that the Sand Cranes reach the knockout phase.
