Bank Money Fraud: “Expose the thieves”, NEED asks Bank of Uganda
By: Mubiru Arnold Lawrence
Members of the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) are demanding that the government and all financial institutions including the Central Bank of Uganda to come forward immediately and expose the theft of money from people’s bank accounts .
They were speaking at a press conference held every monday at their headquarters in Lubaga where they cited out a number of cyber crimes in the banking institutions where poor Ugandans lose millions of money.
On several occasions, several Ugandans have been seen complaining about the money being withdrawn from their accounts in various banks in an unexplained manner which they say that it’s a disservice to the customers.
It is this situation that has prompted NEED members to put the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance on notice demanding that they take a action on the matter with immediate effect.
Earlier today Monday, the central bank issued a statement concerning investigations in the cyber robbery that is taking place in several banks involving bank staffs.
