Currently, at least each school has received it’s results for the 2020 Primary Leaving Examination and they are in the know of how they performed this year apart from those whose results were withheld due to Malpractices.

Kanjuki Junior School, a Kayunga District based Primary School is among those schools that received their results via Examination Centre Portal.

Despite being a village based school and amidst Covid challenge, Kanjuki Junior tried to pullout their best performance this year.

Out of 46 candidates who sat for 2020 Examination, 21 passed in grade one and 25 in grade two and the School’s Director, Ntale Isa put the good performance to mercy of God.

“I want to thank God for this good performance amidst Covid, having registered 21 first grades and 25 in second, surely it has been God, maybe we would have performed better than this but we got huge challenge with COVID-19, because in village it was very worse, children returned to school when they are too down especially those in bottom quarter, but it gave me much happiness when results came back when they passed well.” Kanjuki Junior School director, Ntale Isa told this website.

According to Director, Kanjuki did not perform better compared to 2019 because last year they had two kids who scored five points each, and this year they expected to go higher but covid affected their target.

The fact is, this is not the performance we liked but the situation did not allow, but getting a child with six points was great to us as a school and believe next time we can get kids with four points.

However, the director is not timid, he says that next year they expect to surpass this year’s performance and they want to bounce back stronger once the government lift the lockdown.

Sekandi Prosper was the best performer, scoring six points, two in English, one in mathematics and Social Studies while two in Integrated Science.

The school had two children with seven points, that is Poni Tracy Sarah and Mayanja James,. The worst performer was Manzi Rayan Diamond who scored 22 points.
