Govt Invested Over 600Bn Presidential Initiative for the Past 20 Years

The government of Uganda has Invested over 600 billion shillings into different presidential lnitiatives that were aiming at creating wealth to Youths and ugandans.

The Presidential lnitiative on wealth and job creation (EMYOOGA) , through the microfinance support center, it’s deputy executive director madam Hellen Masika has announced their excitement and the milestone of 20 years of financial inclusions and contribution towards Uganda’s socio economic transformation journey.

The government has invested money of over 600 billion Uganda shillings for the last 20 years since the initiative started in 2001 when the late Dr. Kisamba Mugerwa was still live and also microfinance support center started to operate in order to serve Ugandans up to date.

This project aimed at creating employment opportunities and increasing house hold incomes for millions of Ugandans .

” Through the journey, we have been privileged to manage microfinance programs on behalf of the government of Uganda” Hellen Masika said while addressing press at Uganda Media Centre in Kampala.

“EMYOOGA project helped so many Ugandans to uplift their income at large.

The beneficiaries include the active poor like bodabodas, journalists, welders, veterans, women and youth , performing artists and others.

After the mobilisation and sensitization drive microfinance support center trained 2361 government officials and received 6400 EMYOOGA Saccos formed across the country.

“We shall embark on a number of social responsibility activities, engage with key stakeholders and recognize clients who have been exemplary in the utilization of the funds extended to them.”
