Boxing: Shafik Kiwanuka Apologizes to Ugandans For Not Having a KO in his Away Fight

The current Uganda’s number one Heavy Weight professional boxer, Shafik Kiwanuka aka Killing Machine publicly apologized to Ugandans for not winning his maiden fight away from home.

Kiwanuka who previously had three wins with two Knock Outs, had a draw in his maiden professional fight he had at Dar Salaam in Tanzania last week.

The Killing Machine fought against South African boxer, Chris Thompson in a non-title fight. Kiwanuka while holding a press briefing at International University of East Africa- Kansanga on Tuesday, revealed why he didn’t win the fight like he has been doing before.

“I take this opportunity to say I am sorry to Ugandans, most of you know me because am a man of KOs, this time it didn’t happen but as you know, I have been out of ring for close to two years and I fought against a man he has been active. But I assure you, next match is a sure win, am the killing machine, Ebiso bisala.” Shafik Kiwanuka.

Abdul Tebazaalwa, Kiwanuka and John Sserunjogi coach, narrated the journey of his boys.

“John Sserunjogi, he lost the fight but as a coach I am happy for the performance, Sserunjogi displayed good show according to the level of his opponent.

For Shafik, he won the fight even before entering the ring, I was in gear when he is confident, he is growing every after a game.

He played well, and he is making a good fighter.

At the same event, Uganda Professional Boxing Commission-President Salim Uhuru appreciated Shafik for a great show in Dar-Salaam and he awarded him with one million shillings in cash, he also appreciates his coach and manager, with 200,000/- each.
