FWSL: Asubo-Gafford Aim to Continue with Fine Form as they Visit Olila

Olila High School vs Asubo-Gafford Ladies FC

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC vs Makerere University WFC 

After winning their last three matches, two in FUFA Women Super League against Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and UCU Lady Cardinals  and one in FUFA Women’s Cup against Luweero Giant Queens, Asubo-Gafford Ladies FC wants to keep that performance as they visit Olila High School in Soroti on Sunday evening. 

Nkugwa coached side enter into this game knowing that a win against Olila will push them to 13 points to leap frog Makerere University which is on 12 points if the latter lose  their game against Kawempe Muslim on Sunday.

The team traveled on Friday evening an they had a ground feel on Saturday afternoon at Soroti Grounds.

The team’s assistant Coach, Kasumba Derrick revealed that him and the whole technical team have done enough to see that they collected much wanted points off Olila.

“As a club we have our fine form this second round that’s we want to keep, our head coach Mr. Nkugwa Rogers and the technical team we have done enough to see that get a win from Soroti. And the girls are in good shape.” Says Kasumba Derrick.

In the same sentiment, the on form custodian, Lukia Olga asserted that has players are ready to challenge Olila and they feel, it won’t be an hard game for them to win if they work as a team and put in action what has their coaches taught them.

“If we work together as a team, we have a win against Olila, yes Olila is not an easy team but we have been beating teams that people never expected that we can defeat them, so this one is one of them, so I have a feel that this game will be easy for us to win if we work together.” Says Lukia.

To win the game, Asubo-Gafford Ladies need to back on the form of their forward Evelyn Nassuna, who scored a brace against UCU in their last fixture, speed merchant Kamiyat Naigaga, Zaitun Namaganda and the brilliance of their backline.

On the side of Olila High School  ,they will not love to lose the second game against Gafford ,the side that beat them 1-0 in Kampala in first round.

So they will hope to use the home advantage to pick maximum to move to 19 points and move to safe positions far above the relegation zone .

Soroti grounds has always been so hard and tough for teams outside the region to pick maximum points ,so the Kawempe based side ,will have to tighten their belts if they are to pick a point or points from there.

The head coach of Olila cifu pande ,says they have corrected their mistakes that made against Rines in their 1-0 loss.

“We have tried to prepare ,trying to correct the mistakes we made In previous game and improving on our departmental play and transition. So I think we ready for the game tomorrow ” said Pande, Olila’s tactician.

“We have no new injuries apart from Biira who is still sidelined but she is back in light training.
