Bika Netball Final: Ngeye Dethrones Mmamba to Lift 2022 Shield

Though Kabaka didn’t grace this year’s Bika Bya Baganda Football and Netball finals held on Saturday at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, Ngeye Clan managed to dethrone Mmamba Gabunga in the Netball final.
Ngeye who eliminated Nyonji Nyange on semifinal held at Kibuli Children Centre Netball Courts last year, 2022, managed to be defending champions, Mmamba Gabunga 37-35 in an epic encounter played before the football final.
The Bazzukulu ba Kasujja walked away with the Shield coupled with seven million shillings as the prize money.
Mmamba who lost the game by only two goals, they wiped of final loss with a token of five million shillings as runners up.
Nyonyi Nyange, the 2019 finalists beat Lugave 46-43 to take the third place and three million shillings while the fourth placed Lugave walked home with one million shillings.
In football, it was Ndiga crowned as champions, the side beat Lugave 1-0 on final that was honored at the same venue. George Ssenkaaba scored the only goal that won Ndiga first Shield since 2005.

The Buganda Kingdom primer Owek Charles Peter Mayiga represented His Majesty Ssabadajja Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi who didn’t graced the final due to the fact that he is still in Germany.
The winner walked away with nine million shillings, runners up, Lugave took home seven million while Ffumbe the third placed side won five million shillings after beating Kkobe 4-1. Thank to Anwar Ntege hattrick and Kagawa Muhammed goal.
The losing side, Kkobe took three million shillings.
