New Initiative: Buganda Kingdom Select, Cranes To Have a Friendly Match, Team Summoned
Following the Buganda Kingdom Sports strategic plan, today the Minister for Sports and Leisure, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe revealed that Masaza Cup select team will have a friendly match against Cranes on Friday this week at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.
This is the first time Buganda Masaza Cup select get engagement after the previous event, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe while addressing media at his office at Bulange Mengo on Tuesday, he revealed that this is one of the ways they put in place to see that talents are promoted.
“On the Kingdom strategic plan for football, we developed an idea for having a kingdom team for men and Ladies, under strategic goal, on this arrangement, we think these teams can feature in different competitions both at National and international levels depending on programs we are coming with, in conjunction with our strategic partners, that is FUFA, we are coming up with a particular arrangement, where we are going to have a friendly match between Uganda Cranes and Buganda select team, the game which is on Friday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium and the game is free of charge.” Owek. The Kingdom named Kiwanuka Sulaiman as the team manager, Malinga Richard as the head coach and he will be deputized by Frank Mulindwa.
They selected a 25 man squad that is going for residential training of three days before the game at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.
“It’s my pleasure that am granted a chance to serve my Kingdom, I never expected this, but I thank God that the chance is with me.
The team is already set, they are start reporting tomorrow here at Bulange then we shall have a three day residential training camp at s place we shall communicate. We only request you members, to see that we win.” Sulaiman Kiwanuka.
