Kayunga District By-election: Four Vie For FDC Ticket To Replace Ffefeka As Chairperson LCV
Despite the fact that the National Electoral Commission is yet to announce the dates to hold the by-election of replacing the late Ffeffeka Sserubogo Muhammad, a number of people came out to show interest in taking the Kayunga district top political position.
Four candidates came out to show interest in taking FDC ticket.
The Former Ntenjeru North Constituency MP Aspirant, Ssozi Ronald Naguba is one of the four candidates who have lined up for the ticket.
Ssozi is a born of Kiwooza, Kayunga Sub County, Kayunga District and he is the current District Chairperson of the Forum for Democratic Change.
He has fronted Education System improvement, Health, Land where he states that the District is struggling with Land grabbing, Transportation and Agriculture challenges.
Muliika Abdul is another person in contest for the ticket.
Muliika is a former Member of Parliament for Bbaale Constituency Aspirant in the recent General elections (2021) the post which was won by Hon. Charles Tebandeke of National Unity Platform.
From Bbaale Sub County where he was born, Muliika has been in the struggle since 2006 when the party (FDC) penetrated as the strongest opposition party in the region.
Muliika says, he is very concerned about positive issues of social, political and economic development of the district and he has workable solutions available that will enhance qualities related to primary and secondary issues.
The only Female candidate who has shown interest for the ticket is Brenda Nakaddu who competed on FDC ticket in the race for Kayunga District Woman Member of Parliament and lost to Hon. Aidah Nantaba Erios.
Nakaddu 23, is from Kayunga Town Council and if at all she happens to get the card, Nakaddu will be aiming to become the first ever Female Chairperson of Kayunga District.
The fourth candidate is the party General secretary of Kayunga District Mugenyi Semeo from Kangulumira Sub County.
Besides being Party General secretary, Mugenyi has not been involved in active politics of leadership. He is also the secretary Kayunga District Sugarcane out growers Cooperative.
Mugenyi stands on improving Education since he is a qualified Teacher, Ending wrangles in District leaders as it can not benefit the local People.
The late Ffefeka Sserubogo (may his soul rest in peace) was the first opposition leader to be voted in as the Chairperson LCV of Kayunga District.
Information from the District secretariat indicates that when lockdown is lifted the Party will announce road map for preliminaries to decide who will represent the party.
