2020 Masaza Cup: Mawogola Beats Ssingo 3-0 In Their Championship Opener

Mawogola kick started her 2020 Masaza Championship with 3-0 win over Ssingo in afternoon encounter played on Tuesday 15th, December at FUFA Technical centre Njeru.
The Ssembabule based Saza which was the only team yet to play a game in Butikkiro group where the head of the two time winners in Ssingo (2015 & 2018) five minutes past half an hour mark (35`) through Mutebi “Hazard” Alex converting a well taken corner kick by former Bulemeezi player Ntege Ahmed.
The first stanza ended while Mawogola are two goals up.

Mutebi Alex doubled the lead for Mawogola to register a brace on his name when he converted through pass from Bakole “Kanyama” Isaac 15 minutes to final whistle.
Jamadah Magaasi the current head coach of Mawogola following their (Mawogola) head coach Simon Ddungu aka “Ddunga” testing positive to COVID-19 introduced Herbert Kibirango for Mutebi Alex in the 76th minute.
Five minutes on the pitch Kibirango Herbert registered his name on the score sheet heading a well taken cross from Mawogola right back Ntege Ahmed to seal the first win in the group, Butikkiro.
“I firstly thank the fans of Mawogola for the support they have rendered to us in this trying moment.” Stated Jamadah Magaasi.
“As i promised you that by the end of the game we will take the three points thanks to God everything moved the way we planned.”
“There is not weak team in our group (Butikkiro) because every team have chances of advancing to the next round (quarter finals so we don`t undermine any opponent.” Added Magaasi
Ssingo head coach Kabali Michael promised Ssingo supporters never to lose hope because he still have trust in his Boys.
“We have lost the game but we yet to lose hope. We are going to back and re organize for our last two games.” Said Kabali Michael
“We need six games in in the remaining two games because if we manage to get them all there is a chance for us qualifying.” Added Kabali
A win for Mawogola makes them second on table of Butikkiro group with three points from one game just a point behind leaders Butambala who have played two games.
In the next game Ssingo will take on defending champions Bulemeezi on Thursday 17th afternoon (12:00PM) while Mawogola face Buluuli at 3:00PM.
In other match day fixture, Butambala defeated 2011 champions Buluuli by 2-1 scoreline in the last game.
Moses Mutebi goal and an own goal from Akram yiga earned Recoba coached side their first win in this years championship. The lone goal for Buluuli was scored by Henry Tenywa.
