Stanbic Uganda Cup Final: Coaches, Players React ahead of Judgement Day

The 50th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup Final is set for this Saturday, the 25th May 2024 at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.
The Uganda premier league debutants, NEC FC and Kitara FC are the sides to meet on the judgement day at Wankulukuku.
Hussein Mbalangu the NEC FC head coach eyes a Cup triumph to seal his Uganda Cup trophy double as a player and coach.
As player, Mbalangu won the title with SC Villa in 2000.
Mbalangu scored the winner for SC. Villa against Military Police FC in a 1-0 final win.
“We worked for this and it’s not a mistake for us to be here. We are very for this final.

I won this trophy as a player with SC Villa and it will be a blessing to win it as a coach.
We have no pressure. It’s about concentration and victory will be our way on Saturday God willing”. Hussein Mbalangu.
Kitara finished fourth (4th) in the just concluded Uganda Premier League season. They garnered 54 points compared to NEC FC’s 48 who finished sixth (6th).
During the press conference held on Wednesday at FUFA Complex in Mengo, Ssenyondo said, “We have played them twice in the and gone one apiece. It’s going to be a hard game and we have to take every moment crucial.
We had a hard run to this stage eliminating league champions SC. Villa in the round of 16 and holders Vipers SC in the quarter-finals but our mentality is winning this for our fans.

Marvin Kavuma, the NEC FC skipper asked fans to storm Wankulukuku to witness real football because they are well prepared to give the best show on Saturday.
The second finished top scorer of the UPL (15 goals), Denis Omedi asserted that the only gift they can give to their fans who have been there for them throughout the season is to give them happiness with a trophy.
Vipers SC are the reigning champions having won their third title last year in a 1-0 final win against Police FC.
Express FC and KCCA FC are the joint most successful clubs in this championship and Vipers are the defending champions.
