Youth Football: You Confuse the Public, UYFA Clears Air on Why UYSA Not Registered of Yet
The Uganda Youth Football Association, the body governing the youth football in Uganda cleared the air allegations that they deliberately refused to fully recognize Uganda Youth Soccer Academy as a member.
Six days a go, one of the proprietors of the UYSA, former URA FC Chief Executive Officer, Ivan Kakembo took the battle on his Facebook account showing his discomfort with the response body not to register their Academy and yet all the requirements were fulfiled.
Am disgusted that Uganda Youth Soccer Academy is omitted from the list of registered academies by the Uganda Youth Football Association after meeting all the requirements and paying all the required fees.”
“This political persecution must stop as we have an obligation of uplifting many talents and the people responsible for the torture never even bought a single football.” said Kakembo.
The Association today, Monday, 02nd, 2021 came out with a release clearing the air on the allegations.
“Our attention has been drawn to comments circulating on social media allegedly written by Mr. Kakembo Ivan on behalf of the Uganda Youth Soccer Academy. The false allegations state that Uganda Youth Football Association, an association mandated by Federation of Uganda Football Associations, deliberately refused to register Uganda Youth Soccer Academy despite the fact that the academy complied with all the requirements.” The letter partly reads.
“Whereas it is true that the said academy submitted documents for registration, at the materi-al time of verification, UYFA was addressed to Section 11 of the National Council of Sports Regulations SI No. 38 of 2014. Relating to improper use of “Uganda” by Sports Associa-tions. And whereas the academy had earlier on incorporated its entity with URSB, using the name “Uganda” continues to confuse and or mislead the Members of UYFA and the General Public, and is contrary to law. It was based on the above that the Executive of UYFA resolved to engage FUFA, National Council of Sports, URSB for further guidance.
“Therefore, it is not true that UYFA deliberately refused to register the Academy as alleged, equally, UYFA condemns the unsporting language used by the proprietor of the Academy and a matter was referred to the Ethics Committee of FUFA for investigations.”
The Association has been in process of registering academies and even helping those which are lacking to be registered.
