You the only Man with Vision, Don Rukare Stand Unopposed for the UOC Top Seat
Despite the fact that he is the boss at National Council of Sports, the outgoing Secretary General of Uganda Olympic Committee, Dr. Donald Rukare waiting only to swear in as the full boss at UOC for the next four years.
The Returning officer of Uganda Olympic committee upcoming elections, Sim Katende has on Tuesday, 16th February 2021, afternoon while in the press briefing held at UOC head offices at Lugogo revealed the successful contestants on different posts.
Eight contestants went through unopposed after getting no competitors, and those posts includes that of the President, First Vice President, Second Vice president, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary General, Treasurer, and two Executive board member positions.
The returning officer said that they did vesting among the aspirants and found out that only those who went through have the qualifications to stand on those specified posts.
“…between 13th and 15th February, Election committee made a verification process. Some people chose to withdraw, so now we have the final list of the candidates that we are required to publish today..” Sim Katende said before adding.
“For the position of president, the only candidate who actually applied and met the qualifications is Dr. Donald Rukare and he is standing unopposed.“
On 27th February 2021, UOC shall be holding it’s Elective Assembly and on that day it’s confirmed that there will be only two positions to be contested for. That is the two remaining position on Executive board Members.
Simon Peter Komakech, Abdul Nasser Sserunjogi, Richard Mcbond Assiimwe and Godwin Arinaitwe Kayangwe will be contesting for those two positions.

President: Dr. Donald Rukare
1st Vice President : Dunstan Nsubuga
2nd Vice President : Moses B. Mwase
Secretary General: Ms Patience Beatrice Ayikoru
Assistant secretary General: Mrs. Lydia Gloria Dhamuzungu
Treasury : Mr. Zaid Sadik Nasiwu
Executive Board Member: Ms Anne Mungoma
Executive Board Member: Ms Carolynne Joanne Adongo.
