Women Super League: Gloria Namugerwa Shines As Uganda Martyrs Beat Kawempe

Skipper Gloria Namugerwa displayed a brilliant performance on Tuesday as Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC extends it’s perfect start in the ongoing FUFA Women’s Super League tourney taking part at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.

Namugerwa’s lone goal guided Martyrs to their second consecutive win and made Kawempe Muslim to register a maiden defeat.

Her goal came in the 24th minute of first half, when she converted a free kick from 20 yards into the net. Kawempe was punished after a foul on Nakacwa Spencer.

Not like they played against Makerere University, this time round, the Kidda girls were to solid and confident especially in the middle of the park and the defense.

The partnership of Gloria Namugerwa and Nabulobi Patience gave no room to Juliet Nalukenge, Nandago Hadijjah and Margaret Kunihira to execute their abilities.

Nkugwa Rogers, Martyrs tactician made changes from that side played yesterday against Makerere.

Now Uganda Martyrs moved to the top of the table with six points in two games, they will be playing Kampala Queens tomorrow.

Kawempe Muslim remained on three points.
