Women Football: The Introduction of Jean Sseninde United On Ground, Takes The Game To Markets
In their pursuit to professionalize Women football in Uganda by the year 2030, Jean Sseninde United started taking the gospel on ground.
The team that was launched in July 2021, has been moving place to place preaching the gospel to corporate world but this month they have geared up with going to the low profile communities because it’s where the talent is.
On Friday, The Red Ants’ ground team started the campaign from the areas Nabweru, Nansana market and Kyebando.
The campaign involves creating awareness to communities about the benefits in letting girls get involved in football, selling Jean Sseninde United products on a 5% discount an the same amount they want to use to help the girl child in Uganda achieve their dreams.
“Today was our first ever JSU Market day where all our products had a 5% off discount. The purchasing points have been,Nabweru junction after Lubigi, Nabweru junction ( Kyenabweru), Nansana Municipal Council, Kyebando Junction, Nabweru ku kasaawe ( Nansana Division).” Said Elvis Echumu, Club’s Online Media Officer.
“Our aim was to raise awareness to approximately 100 members of the community in Nansana through showcasing and putting the organization’s merchandise up for sale with all proceeds going towards supporting young girls and women in communities that love to play but lack.
JSU is here to professionalize women football in Uganda especially by 2030. So JSU is reaching out to the community in order to also create awareness to every girl or parent who loves to play football or wish their girl to play football.” He added.
In the same process, the team also registering the players for the academy that is to be launched next year, and the senior team will officially start in 2024 as well as more individuals to join the growing community of Jean Sseninde United family.
