UPL: It’s a ‘Crime’ to utter Any word Close to ‘Virginity’ at Wankulukuku as Arua Hill Enjoy Maiden Topflight Victory
The newbies, Arua Hill introduced themselves in the Uganda Premier League with a punishing stroke against the defending champions.
The Kongolos started with breaking Express FC 17-match unbeaten run at Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku by beating the hosts 2-0 on Friday afternoon.
Robert Eseru and Rashid Kawawa are the names the Red Eagles will hardly forget in their lifetime.
The first stanza at Wankulukuku saw a barren draw but with 17 minutes into second half, Robert Eseru with assistance from former Express FC forward, Alex Leku, opened the scoring route to put the visitors in the lead.
It was Eseru’s second decent chance of the game having forced Mutakubwa into a low save moments earlier.
Kawawa who was introduced in the second half, bundled in from close range after he was set up by fellow substitute Samuel Ssekamate in the 86th minute.
Like any side at home with a champion’s character, Express FC enjoyed the ball possession but Arua boys were so strong on the day to allow any Celebration for the hosts.
The last season top scorer at Wankulukuku, Eric Kenzo Kambale, George Ssenkaaba both had chances to collect something for the Red Eagles but custodian, Richard Anyama was spot on and not ready to go back home empty handed.
In their next games, Express will be away to UPDF FC on Saturday, October 23 while Arua Hill host Onduparaka in the West Nile derby on Tuesday, October 26.
In the other games played on Friday, Mbarara City defeated Bright Stars 3-1 while Onduparaka drew 1-1 with UPDF.
Currently Mbarara City and Arua Hill top the UPL table after three games of match day one.
