Women Football: Jean Sseninde Launches a Professional Football Services Company
Former Uganda Crested Cranes defender and the South Sudan FA football consultant on matters of women football, Jean Sseninde Namayega has on Thursday launched a professional football services company named Jean Sseninde United Limited.
This will be the first of it’s kind to be formed by a Ugandan born but this company will have its headquarters in London, United Kingdom with operational office in Wakiso in Uganda.
According to the founder, Jean Sseninde United Limited came in place to create global opportunities to girls and women for both on and off the pitch.
The company that was launched today, via zoom press conference held basing in London, will have five focus areas these include; forming up a professional women football Academy for categories of U10, U15 and U17, a professional women’s Senior football club, a football agency to connect the talented players into Professional game. The company will have a consultancy section to advise various institutions on effective football policies and a sports events management outfit to help to organize events and competitions of international standards.
“By starting this company, I am hoping that I will be able to show decision makers and parents the standard of which women’s football should be and the support we can offer to the girls and Women.” Jean Sseninde the founder of the company said before adding. ” We want to change the narrative and through our actions, raise the bar to fill the gaps and serve honestly with our hearts through a sport we love and what we believe can change the future generations mentality and perceptions.” Sseninde.
The Company will start it’s work with academy formation, and this will commence it’s work in 2022 and then the professional senior women’s club will be created two years later. The club nicknamed the Red Ants, and the motto of the company is “Together we shine”
“We are going to create a community and a platform where all young girls and women can shine in a safe environment.”
Sseninde is the founder of Sseninde Foundation, the organizers of the Annual Sseninde Women’s Development Cup in Uganda.
