Women Football Introduced at Bugema University

Bugema University introduced women football and they are (administration of the University) still discussing whether they join the FUFA organized competitions or keep using the team for University competitions alone.

The news was revealed to this website by the Bugema University Men’s football team head Coach Nyanzi Meddie.

We have started a strong women’s football team, as a coach I saw it important for such a vibrant University like Bugema also to embrace women football, and the good thing the top officials welcomed the idea.” Nyanzi told this website.

Early preparations are always better, University Football League, hinted on introducing women football league, so we want that to find us ready.

Another thing, we also embrace girl child education, and we saw it that some talented girls, their parents don’t have enough to finance their education, now we give full bursary to such talents. As I speak now, I need more girls, at least three, a striker, midfielder and a defender.” He added.

According to Nyanzi, they are yet to decide whether they straight go to FUFA organized competitions or to distribute these girls to Regional league clubs, to keep themselves fit.

Bugema joined Uganda Christian University, Makerere University, MUBS and Kampala University, Nkumba University as the serious Varieties in embracing women football.
