With This Brand New Vehicle, Am to Reach Every Corner of My District- Sironko RDC

The Resident District Commissioner of Sironko district vowed to fully execute his role with the brand new vehicle he received.

Early on Thursday, 10th December 2020, the Minister for presidency, Hon. Esther Mbayo handed over 55 brand new vehicles to RDCs, that of Sironko inclusive.

After receiving his brand new Isuzu double cabin vehicle, Isaac Lulaba, vowed to duly serve his residents without any difficulty.

“In most cases I have been finding it hard to execute my role as an RDC, now it’s of my pleasure that I have received a new vehicle that will help me to fully monitor all the government projects in my district.

“I am not saying that have not been working but due to transport challenge have been not reaching everywhere.

But having gotten this new one, I am going to reach every corner of my district and fully monitor every program.” Isaac speaking to this website after receiving his brand new vehicle at Kololo Airstrip- Kampala.

The RDC continued to reveal the role of an RDC as per the constitution of Uganda.

The role of RDC is to monitor government projects and programs like education, health, roads, fighting poverty and the like but they have been cut short due to challenges we face with poor or lack of transport means.

Hon. Minister Esther Mbayo while handing over cars to the excited RDCs, she asked them to use them only for the official work of the government.

“So use the cars for the official work. you are required to play that cardinal role of following all government programs and informing the public what has the government has done for them.

If you don’t really sensitize them, they will not know and you will be leaving the government resources to the corrupt people.

Good enough you have received the cars that will help you coordinate the all the projects and please since we have free airtime on media, go and sensitize masses about COVID-19” Minister

So far in two years, the government have managed to buy 120 vehicles for RDCs and spent over 22bn shillings.
