USSSA Ball Games II: Nanyunja, Nabirye Inspire Kawempe to Semifinal – U16 Girls Football

The free scoring duo of Kevin Nanyunja and Shadia Nabirye inspired Kawempe Muslim SS to the semifinal of U16 girls football in the 2025 USSSA Ball Games II championship underway in Tororo District.

At the King George Stadium in Tororo Town on Wednesday evening, Kawempe Muslim beat Bunya SS 2-0 courtesy of skipper Shadia Nabirye and Kevin Nanyunja. 

Both goals came in the first stanza of the match with the free scoring forward Nanyunja giving Kawempe a lead with a poacher’s finish, thanks to Belinda Hope Nabawanuka well laid cross from the left flank. Shadia Nabirye doubled the lead for Kawempe Muslim with a loop over to extend her goal tally to 11. Nanyunja also has the same goals(11).

Kawempe Muslim will square off with St Catherine Kazo on the semis on Thursday. 

In the other quarter final match, Rines SS beat Panyadoli 2-0 before Lugazi Home stone register a uniform score against St. Andrews Ruhindi.
