USSSA Ball Games II Champions: Nanyunja Kevin On Target Twice for Kawempe as Rines, Boni Consilii Share Spoils

The 2025 USSSA Ball Games II championship officially kicked off on Friday and Kawempe Muslim SS started on a brighter note with a 2-0 victory over Wampeewo Ntake in U16 Girls football.
The promising goal poacher, Nanyunja Kevin netted twice for her side to register the first win in the group A action honored at Manjaasi Playground in Tororo District.

The two sides played to a barren stalemate in the first stanza of 30 minutes but in the last half, Kawempe hyped the tempo and with only seven minutes, Nanyunja Kevin unlocked the deadlock with a clinical finish, thanks to skipper, Shadia Nabirye through that found the scorer who had a striker’s run in between the two defenders.
With ten minutes to the final whistle, Nanyunja doubled the lead with a one touch goal poacher ‘s finish. Thanks to Charity Asiimwe’s low cross from the left flank.
Despite a low scoring a win for Kawempe, the side had a number of going scoring opportunities but were squandered by Belinda Hope Nabawanuka and Shadia Nabirye, the former had three full chancing scoring opportunities but went off target.
Kawempe is on the search of their third under 16 championship trophy, their last attempt, lost to Boni Consilii Girls on final via spot kicks.
In other fixtures, the defending champions, Boni Consilii shared spoils with Rines SS with a goalless draw.
In boys football U16, Bukomansimbi SS and Bukedea Comprehensive School played to a barren stalemate with Bushenyi and Seroma Christian High School settle for a point each following a one all draw and Masaka Citizen lost 1-0 to Busoga College Mwiri.
The action will continue on Saturday before the commence of the opening ceremony scheduled to be held at King’s George Stadium.
