USSSA Ball Games 2025 Edition Officially Opened, The Host with a Classic Start

The 2025 USSSA Ball Games I 2025 officially opened today (Wednesday) at Bukedea Comprehensive Stadium in Bukedea District- Eastern Uganda.
Bro. Dr. Augustine Mugabo represented the Guest of Honor, the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among and the same opening ceremony was also graces by the Commissioner of Physical Education in the Ministry of Education and Sports, Rev. Canon Duncans Mugumya, USSSA president, Justus Mugisha, Bukedea Comprehensive School Managing Director, Jonas Gumisirize and other dignitaries.

The Chief guest thanked Government for investing a lot in sports.

“I thank government and the ministry of Education for funding the games and I promise to send the requests from USSSA about funding to the speaker.” Chief Guest Bro.Dr Augustine Mugabo.
The commissioner was also of no difference, he also thanked Government and the president for financially supporting sports in the country.

“We have improved on the games because we have been supported by the president and the parliament financially and looking forward to supporting the schools for nationals as per our budget,” Rev Dr. Duncan Mugumya
USSSA president, Justus Mugisha revealed that the number of the participants has increased and they are hitting their target of having every child gets a chance to play.

“We have the highest number of participants so far thus fulfilling our dream of giving every student chance to participate in sports all the way from district to national level” President USSSA Justus MugishaThe Bukedea Comprehensive School Managing Director, Jonas Gumisirize asserted that they are to make this championship the best for the kid, stated that the swimming pool will be free for use starting Thursday.

“We are going to make this championship one of the best in Uganda and starting from tomorrow the swimming pool the swimming pool is going to be open for everyone and free of charge.” Host Managing Director Mr. Jonas Gumisirize.
Besides the speeches, the hosts got a classic start in girls football, beating Gulu High School 2-0 in the opening fixture hosted at Bukedea Stadium.

Bukedea scored in the both halves with Nassozi Shanita and Nanyonjo Jaridah netting.
