UPSSA Elections: William Bwambale Nominated as Presidential Candidate, Promises to Come with a Unifying Factor
The former Vice president of Uganda Netball Federation in the Susan Anek’s government and the current Head teacher of Bweyogerere Church of Uganda primary School, Kira Municipality, [Wakiso zone] on 18, March, 2024 has been declared a candidate for a position of president, Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association for a term 2024/28.
He returned the nomination forms to UPSSA returning officer, Okanya Patrick whose office is at the USSSA office at GNS Plaza Old Kampala.
He was nominated by Kabanda Daniel, a delegate from Wakiso Zone and was seconded by Mugisha Abdul from Kampala zone.
Bwambale who has been the secretary of the association before it got it’s new approved constitution, revealed to media that he is the right person to take over the top seat of the newly born baby because he has that element of bring people together for development of the sport in schools. And with his experience as the secretary, he is in the best position to know all the challenges in the association and how to solve them.
“The position I am vying for is a position, needs a person of integrity who has the art of uniting and putting people together, a person listens and understands, a person who is capable of running up and down to make sure things are done the right way.” Says Bwambale William, the presidential candidate.
“For the years and experience that I had in the sports field I am the right person to be voted in, I want to call upon the all Uganda to look on to me to unite the fellow sportspersons in primary schools to come closest to our elder brothers (USSSA) who they have seen done the wonders in the country.” He added.
The nominations at national level started on Saturday 16th and they are closing today, Monday 2024 at 23:59hrs and the submission and returning of the forms can be done both physically and via online.
According to the National Returning officer, Okanya Alfred Patrick, the elections from district to zones have moved on well and currently they have all the delegates who will vote their national executive committee on Thursday, 21st March, 2024 at Frontpage Hotel, Entebbe Road.
“….today we have received one of the presidential candidates, Mr. William Bwambale, now it’s my call to the rest of the people who have intention and who not yet submitted their nomination forms, we rolled on on Saturday and we are closing today midnight
The national elections are going to be held on Thursday, 21, March, 2024 at Front Page Entebbe Road.” Said the UPSSA returning officer.
The executive committee elective positions include;
President, 1st Vice president, 2nd vice president, 3rd vice president, Secretary for women, regional representative and Ex official Association of Primary School head teachers of (UPSHA) representative (to be named by UPSHA National executive).
