The match day three comes to an end on Tuesday as Mbarara City welcoming defending champions Vipers SC at Kakyeka stadium at 4PM in an anticipated contest.

Vipers have had an excellent start this season as they defeated Gaddafi FC 2-1 in their opening game before they smartly edged Arua Hill 2-0 at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende in their second game.

Mbarara City are still winless this season after losing 1-0 to NEC FC in the opening game before sharing spoils with Express FC in their second game.

The Ankole Lions will be hoping to shock the reigning champions to register their first win of the season.

Vipers SC head coach Neiva asked his players not to underrate their opponents but to fight for the maximum points.

“Mbarara City FC is a good team, a good counter-attack team. They have a good idea of the game. The trick is how are we going to prepare for Mbarara City FC, mentally and physically. It’s going to be a battle.” He stated.

“We know the way they play because l watched the game they played against Express FC. So, it’s going to be a challenge. We have to be at our best again to collect the three points.” Added Neiva.

“They have good offensive players, good common defending, so we have to be creative, we have to be aware of the counter-attacks and all these things.” He concluded.

In the last 10 meetings, Vipers SC have beaten Mbarara City 4 times, sharing spoils on four occasions and Mbarara City have won only twice.

With Wasswa Bbosa having good record against Vipers SC as a coach, and Mbarara City being at home, it will be a tough game.

The venoms will climb on the top of the table if they beat Ankole Lions this evening as they keep their dream of defending the league title alive.

A win for Mbarara City, will take them on same points with Maroons, SC Villa, Express and Wakiso Giants who are 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th respectively and goal difference will determine their positions.

The home team will miss Richard Wandyaka, Pius Kaggwa and Ronald Edwok while Vipers SC will also miss Hilary Mukundane for the duel while new signings Eric Kambale and Allan Okello remain sidelined due to injuries.
