UMEA Solidarity Games 2026: Busiika Muslim Storm Into Maiden Round of 16 as Netball Battles Find Competitive Ground in Mbale

Busiika Muslim Secondary School emerged as one of the standout sides on day two of the UMEA Solidarity Games netball competition, sealing a place in the round of sixteen with commanding performances at Nkoma SS in Mbale.
Under the guidance of head coach Deo Kanakulya, Busiika Muslim showed resilience and intent, winning their final two Group B matches in style. They thumped Buziga Islamic 20-04 in the morning fixture before edging past Bulo Parents 15-12 in a tightly contested encounter later in the day.
The results saw Busiika Muslim finish second in Group B with six points, just two behind group leaders Kibuli SS, who topped the standings with eight points after maintaining a strong unbeaten run.
Day two delivered a series of dominant displays across the competition. Kibuli SS underlined their title credentials with a 20-05 victory over Buziga Islamic and an 18-12 win against Bulo Parents. Elsewhere, Kawanda SS registered emphatic wins, defeating Nkoma SS 22-09 and Wamatovu 18-07.
Kyantamba SS continued to shine with a hard-fought 13-10 win over Ibn Buz and later stunned Masaka SS 13-06, while Hamdan Girls edged Namagabi SS 16-15 in one of the most thrilling matches of the day before falling narrowly to Kasana Vocational 16-13.
There were also high-scoring encounters, with Namagabi SS crushing Bugembe Islamic 41-01 and Gombe SS dismantling Kigumba 38-01. Sseke SS also impressed, hammering Mariam 22-02 and Kigumba 28-01.
With momentum on their side, Busiika Muslim SS will be eager to carry their form into the knockout stage as the race for UMEA netball glory gathers pace in Mbale.
