Ugandan Men, Slay Queens Keep Up the Smile, Over 50 Afghan Nationals In the Country

After getting a request for the United States of America Government, the government of Uganda accepted to harbor the Afghan nationals whose county had lost security stability following the takeover of the Taliban.

Today the government of Uganda confirmed that 51 Afghan Nationals, who include; men, Women and children were received at Entebbe International Airport.

According to ministry of Foreign Affairs these people arrived today, Wednesday, 25th August, 2021 and boarded Private chartered plane.

The government of the Republic of Uganda this morning received fifty one (51) evacuees from Afghanistan who arrived aboard a privately chartered flight at the Entebbe International Airport” the statement read in parts.

The statement also indicates that the refugees passed through all the protocols of security and they were tested for COVID-19. 

The Evacuees who included men, Women, and children underwent the necessary security screening as well as the mandatory COVID-19 testing and the required quarantine procedures.

The same statement tells that the government had arranged to bring back some Ugandans from Afghanistan but they were unable to make it.

Whereas, it had been arranged to for some Ugandans to travel on the above flight due to challenges of accessing the airport in Kabul , they were unable to make it.

Arrangements are being made to bring them in the subsequent flights.” 

The earlier communication from the government indicated that Uganda is to harbor at least 2000 refugees from Afghanistan.
