Uganda Mini Football League Set for Grand Kickoff This Weekend

Ugandan football is set to experience a historic moment this weekend as the inaugural Uganda Mini Football League officially kicks off on Saturday at the Centenary Park Sports Complex. The much anticipated competition will feature ten dynamic teams drawn from various communities across the country, marking a major step towards strengthening grassroot football.
During the press conference held earlier today in Kampala, the organizers unveiled the ten participating clubs which will competitively play against each other in a round-robin format, with fixtures scheduled at various venues across Kampala as the organizers aim to bring the thrill of mini-football closer to fans in different communities.
Rubaga United FC, Machette FC, Best of the Best Wabigalo FC, KTW Kakiri FC, Abbey and Friends FC, Stimulus-Mutungo FC, Tunywemu FC, Kololo 3 FC, Ghost of Yotei FC, and Uplift Soccer Academy FC.
League Chairman Mr. Fahadi Kasimu emphasized that the new league is more than just competition it is a strategic investment in the future of Ugandan football.
“Today marks a significant milestone in Ugandan football history, and we’re thrilled to kick off the first-ever Uganda Mini Football League. This league promises to showcase the best of Ugandan football talent, and we look forward to an exciting season.”
The League CEO, Hajji Ssekatawa Hassan Hood, used the platform to rally support from the corporate community:
“As the CEO of the Uganda Mini Football League, I invite all potential sponsors to join us in nurturing local talent and promoting the beautiful game. Your support will be instrumental in taking this league to greater heights. Let’s work together to unearth more football stars and bring glory to Uganda!”
