Uganda Decides2021: Buganda Prime, Charles Peter Mayiga Strongly Condemns Police Brutality Against Ugandans
The Katikkiro of Buganda Kingdom Charles Peter Mayiga joined other Ugandans to condemn Police brutality against its citizens.
It has become a normal for men in Uniform to use excessive force against Ugandans especially during the time of despising them during the presidential campaigns.
Via his official facebook page, the Buganda Prime condemned Police for using excessive force against Citizens in guise of enforcing COVID-19 guidelines.
“We strongly condemn the brutality/demeaning against presidential candidates and MPs.
Murder, firing teargas and other bitter acts against Ugandans put our nation in a delicate state.
COVID-19 is a very dangerous disease but that doesn’t mean that those who don’t follow guidelines to prevent it should be treated like animals.
“Beating, unlawful arrests and belittling people’s rights, all those breaks the law.
Government should not use COVID-19 to break the law.
But again we remind Ugandans to be vigilant about COVID-19.”

A number of Ugandans came out to condemn the brutality of Uganda Police against the citizens and Presidential Candidates.
Early today, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert and Patrick Oboi Amuriat were arrested which sparked off, protests in different parts of the nation and the scuffle between angry Protesters and Men in Uniform claimed lives of over 10 people though Police confirmed only three.
