Uganda Decides 2021: Police Denies Gen. Tumukunde Access To Mbarara

Now it’s becoming a norm for Uganda Police in Western Uganda and Presidential Candidate Gen. Henry Tumukunde engaging in battles and miss understandings.

Gen. Tumukunde in his pursuit to climb on the top political seat in Uganda come 2021, he is traversing Western Uganda while hunting for votes from locals in western Uganda, and he was to start his today’s hunt in Mbarara City but he was denied access by Police.

According to Tumukunde, he was supposed to have a campaign meeting at Booma grounds in Mbarara, but to his surprise, Police under the command of DPC John Rutaagirwa denied him chance claiming that the ground was occupied by NRM.

We agreed on the route, and its Booma where we booked and we even set our tents there, but they denied me access, they told me to go to Kakyeka where it had no people.

However, we accepted to go to Kakyeka as they wanted but again we found when they blocked the way and fired teargas, so I don’t know what really they want.

But what I can’t tell you, we are in fake elections.” Tumukunde told media after the day’s campaign.

This is the third consecutive time Police is battling with Tumukunde in his campaigns, it started from Kisoro, carried on to Rwampara and now it happened in Mbarara.

Tumukunde moved on with his rallies to other areas, and he met people of Rusherere in Kiruhura district, and Kazo, not like before, today him moved with his wife, Stella Tumukunde who also asked residents of Western Uganda to vote for her husband.

Tumukunde closed his day with a mega rally in Ibanda.
