Uganda Decides 2021: “I am Offering Myself To Move Our Country Forward”, Tumukunde To Western Ugandans
Don't you think, we are supposed to carry on this country, yes and I am offering myself that we move this country forward
General Henry Tumukunde’s hunt for votes that will give him mandate to lead Uganda for next five years garnered day six and he traversed three districts before the closure of Business.
He is still in Western Uganda and his campaign meetings today were not disrupted by Uganda Police like it was in the past three days.
He reached in three districts, that is Buhweju, Sheema and Mitooma districts and from those areas, Tumukunde revealed to Ugandans that he is offering his self to move Uganda forward from where it has stuck.
“Don’t you think, we are supposed to carry on this country, yes and I am offering myself that we move this country forward.
“There are issues we must settle, we must settle the issue of the youths, the young people, 9.8 million voters, 7.7 million are below the age of 54, 60% of whom are below 40 years, we produce 1.5million babies every year.” Tumukunde speaking to Buhweju district residents.
Tumukunde also asserted that according to the love people of western Uganda showed to him, it implies that he is very strong and people are yearning for change.
“I am sure since we started this journey,it shows that I am actually very strong. Is that a fact or not?” Tumukunde asked Journalists before adding.
“I have some points to make, western region has been giving an impression that the only person who can help them to progress is President Museveni, this is not a fact. We have been working with him maybe that’s why he sounds successful.”
The former Security Minister utters what will help western region and Uganda to develop from one stage to another.
“We need to move them from Agriculture stage of development to industrial stage, that’s how Europe became so successful. If we continue carrying matooke to Kampala, if we continue not providing good roads to transport these produces we will never make a difference.”
Tomorrow 15th November, General shall be winding up Greater Bushenyi districts with two districts, that is Bushenyi and Rubirizi before moving to Tooro and Rwenzori region.
Uganda is deciding on 14th January 2021.
