National Resistance Movement Presidential candidate Yoweri  Tibuhaburwa Museveni has shown his dissatisfaction with the Electoral Commission’s decision of suspending campaign meetings in some districts in regards to the fight against COVID-19 pandemic spread.

Museveni said that he doesn’t hold rallies but he was surprised to be put in the same category with the likes of Kyagulanyi’s and others who defy Ministry of Health SOPs in regards to COVID-19.

“I don’t remember holding any rally, but it seems the EC has combined us together with the Kyagulanyi’s and other candidates who have been defying the SOPs, but anyway there’s a God in heaven seeing everything.” Said Museveni before adding. “Anyway, since the big man of the EC spoke, then we have no option but to obey his commands.”

That’s why you see me dressed like a diplomat today not in my yellow attire, I don’t want to look like I am campaigning.” Said presidential candidate Museveni while commissioning Mukono-Katosi road.

It should be remembered that on Saturday, the Electoral Commission Chairman Justice Simon Byabakama said that rallies are considered to be speeding the rate at which COVID-19 is spread and thus the call for suspension in districts like Jinja, Kasese, Kabarole, Masaka, Kazo, Luweero, Wakiso, Kampala districts.

However, this comes at a time when Museveni is only left to campaign in Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono districts.
