Ug Decides2021: Kyagulanyi Trashes Opinion Polls Putting M7 On Top, Those Are Regime Sponsored Fake Polls
Like it has been in the past elections since 2001, with a month to polling day, a number of newspapers, magazines and individual researchers come out with opinion polls predicting who to take the top seat in Uganda.
However, opinion polls always give Yoweri Kaguta Museveni higher percentage compared to his opponents, and within this week, Red Paper and New Vision gave Museveni 59% and 64.8% compared to that of Kyagulanyi’s 20% and 24.8% respectively.
The National Unity Platform presidential flag bearer, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert trashed the polls, stating that these are regime sponsored fake opinion polls that are targeting population not to turn up in big numbers to vote and also to prepare themselves for massive vote rigging.
“As we told you a few days back, the regime is investing massively in sponsoring fake opinion polls, to lay ground for massive rigging! This has been the usual script every election cycle.” Kyagulanyi posted on his facebook page.
“They normally do this
1. To create apathy and discourage people from voting massively
2. To lay ground for massive vote rigging
3. To discourage the citizens and prepare their minds for another five years of repression.” He added.
Kyagulanyi said that they know all those tricks but warned the regime that this time it will be different because the generation is a different cup of tea not ready for that cheap propaganda.
“Not this time!
In the coming days, state media and other paid organisations will publish fake polls showing that Museveni is in the lead! Laughable!
For the past three years, all independent polls conducted have showed that we are far ahead of Museveni. There have been recorded cases where individuals don’t respond to researchers for fear of the state!
Gen. Museveni will soon understand that this generation is some different cup of tea, not the kind which falls for cheap propaganda! We only need to increase our levels of vigilance, and ensure that we turn up in massive, massive numbers to vote.”
In the same sentiment, while launching the first ever Deaf and blind manifesto at the Renewed headquarters, Presidential candidate Gen. Henry Tumukunde said that such opinion polls are worn out mastered designs to which he understands better.
“But you see this is a mastered design which I know myself, they forget that I know. But this is a phased out tackle, think it’s getting time that these dirty tactics must be exposed and I am serious on this.
We shall start telling Ugandans the truth that we happen to know.” Furious Tumukunde said before adding.
“If you don’t stop your habit of small gains, you have seen Red paper already, that’s the newspaper, that was running bankrupt,I am the one who helped them, now they are being used to lie Ugandans that the opinion polls give Museveni 55% and they give me 02%, can you imagine! Evenif I was to depend on these disability votes, I don’t think that I can get 2%.”
