The New Dawn of Uganda Netball
Today records the new dawn of Uganda Netball, the new executive officially found a new home on one of the seven hills that make the Capital City of the Republic of Uganda.
For starters, this new Executive took the mandate on 5th June, 2021 when the federation elections were held at Lugogo Sports Complex.
With a month in hibernation, the new executive came out to reveal what they have been doing in silence, and this is the state of the Art Office positioned at Aga Khan Building at Old Kampala and today, Tuesday, the offices are officially launched by the State Minister for Sports, Hon. Hamson Denis Obua.

Obua was flanked by Dr Lawrence Mulindwa (director of St Mary’s Boarding SSS Kitende and president Vipers SC), Justus Mugisha (FUFA first vice president and president Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Association -FEASSA), Emmanuel Ben Misagga (President, Nyamityobora Football Club), Madam Maggie Kigozi, Benah Muwanga (former National team coach), Rebecca Kavulu, (Former President UNF) and other dignitaries.
Hon. Hamson Obua, in his speech, he congratulated Hon. Sarah Babirye Kityo as an individual and the Netball Federation to grow and move from the parents home (Lugogo Sports Complex) to have their own address.
“In the constitution of Uganda, when a child reach 18yrs, it means he or she is now a grown up person ready to have own home, so what you did to move to your home is very good.
Sarah is my friend, we have been together in Parliament and I know her potential, so I congratulate you.” Hon. Obua said.
The minister also vowed to support the netball fraternity at all times, urging them to lobby from all stakeholders and consult from experienced partners.
“Do not hesitate to consult at all times. I urge you to embrace the corporate development. We shall give you all the support as the ministry to see the development of netball.” Obua stated.
The Uganda Netball Federation president continued to emphasize that they are to be guided by the ten point strategic plan, they revealed to the franiternity during their campaigns.
“The new leadership of Uganda Netball Federation intends to further professionalize the game, lobby for more resource mobilization, capacity building, establish a strong netball secretariat, strengthen culture through netball, promote equity in the game and foster accountability at all times in all aspects.” Uganda Netball Federation president, Hon. Sarah Babirye Kityo stated.
At the same event, the federation revealed the four year strategic plan (2021 – 2025) which was also launched by the Minister.
The Netball Uganda Vision 2021 – 2025 is pegged on the key strategic pillars of governance, finance and administration, marketing, branding, communications; competitions, events and national teams.
