SUPL: In-Form SC Villa Hosts Unpredictable Gaddafi FC
On Wednesday evening, SC Villa will be welcoming Gaddafi FC at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku in match day eleven of Startimes Uganda Premier League.
The 16-time league champions will be looking forward to winning back to back game after beating Express FC 2-1 in Kampala derby in the last game.
Gaddafi FC are also hunting for the second consecutive win after beating UPDFC FC 2-1 in their last league game.
In the last away game, Gaddafi lost 6-1 to KCCA FC while Villa edged Express FC 2-1 in the last home game thanks to Patrick Kakande and Umar Lutalo goals.
This will be the fifth league meeting between the two sides and Villa have won two and lost once with the other encounter ending all square.
Former SC Villa and on-form forward Benson Muhindo, will be in the limelight and is one of the key players that will have to deliver if Gaddafi FC are to get positive results from Wankulukuku.
Speaking to the media via the club’s website, forward Hakim Kiwanuka is optimistic that, his team will win the game.
“We enter the game with high morale after winning the derby. We recognize that facing Gaddafi FC is a challenge, but we believe the tactics provided will help us secure the points.” Said Kiwanuka.
Gaddafi FC head coach David Mutono believes that, they can overcome SC Villa despite their good run at home.
“We know SC Villa is a strong team and they’re good at home but we’re well prepared and ready to stress them and get the three points.” Mutono bravely said.
A win for SC Villa, will take them to 5th position if Maroons fail to beat Vipers while a victory for Gaddafi FC, will take them to 8th position with the same points (16) with Sc Villa and URA FC who are 6th and 7th respectively.
Team News:
SC Villa – The squad received a boost with the return of U18 national duty players Hakim Mutebi, Simon Mukisa, but Abasi Kyeyune is doubtful for this encounter after picking a knock in the last training.
Gaddafi FC- Abdu Magada and Abusaid Karungi are back from the concluded U18 CECAFA championship and available for selection. They have no injury worry.
