Super Four Tournament to Open 2025 Uganda Beach Soccer Season

Kampala, Uganda – The 2025 Uganda beach soccer season will officially get underway on 28 September with the annual Super 4 tournament, bringing together four top-flight clubs: Kampala City, St. Lawrence University, Mutoola, and Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
Kampala City will headline the competition as the defending champions, having clinched both the Super Trophy and the league championship last season. Their strong record has placed them as favorites, though challengers St. Lawrence, Mutoola, and MUBS are expected to provide stiff competition.
The beach soccer events manager Ssebaggala Tony said the Super 4 serves as more than a season opener, calling it a stage to set the tone for the months ahead.
“We call upon all clubs to give their best, not only at the Super Four but throughout the entire season, in order to ensure that beach soccer is elevated to another level,” Ssebaggala stated.
The Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) indicated that consultations with stakeholders are in the final stages to determine the venue for the tournament.

The Super 4 tournament has become a traditional curtain-raiser for the Uganda beach soccer league, providing a platform for teams to showcase their form, test new signings, and gauge their readiness for the season. First introduced to boost competitiveness and fan engagement, it has grown into one of the most anticipated fixtures on the domestic beach soccer calendar.
Uganda’s beach soccer scene has steadily expanded under the stewardship of UBSA, with the league attracting sponsorship, media attention, and a growing fan base along the shores of Lake Victoria and other host venues. The Super 4, in particular, has helped to highlight the sport’s rising profile, often serving as a launchpad for young talent and a test of endurance for established clubs.

As the 2025 season kicks off, the Super 4 will not only set the stage for domestic competition but also shape Uganda’s preparation for regional and international tournaments.
