Star Discovery: Meet Lanky Promising Midfielder, Iniesta In The Making
Talents hub in ghettos and Villages, Voice of Bugerere in its pursuit to discover talents of all aspects from remote and urban areas, today we have brought you soccer player in Swaibu Ndugwa from Ntenjeru, Kayunga District.
The Lanky ball player from Bugerere FC (a fourth division club) and Bugerere Sazza football team, Ndugwa Swaibu was born in 1998 to Mr. Musitwa Twaha and late Nakaweesa Fatuma from Namagabi, Ntenjeru North Constituency, Kayunga District.
He is the second last born in a family of seven kids, six boys and only one girl.
Him and the family last born, Ssemwogerere Khalid are the sportsmen, in family, he is a soccer player while his younger brother is a boxer.
The great ball passer, intelligent attacking midfielder, one could say that Ndugwa is a Jackson Nunda or Andre Iniesta in making if his talent is jealously handled and protected, in few seasons, he will be gold in National league and National teams.

Education Background:
Due to fees challenges, Swaibu as an orphan saw his education career stopping at Advanced level of secondary education and started a new life in construction and when he is out of football field, he works with his elder brother.
First forward, Swaibu started schooling in 2001 at Kakiri Islamic Primary School where he sat his Primary Leaving Examination in 2010 before joining Namagabi SS in 2011.
At one of giant secondary schools in Kayunga, Namagabi SS is where Swaibu sat his 2014 Uganda Certificate of Education exams in 2014.
At Star SS Jjeza, Ndugwa did acquire his UACE certificate (2016) History Economics and Luganda.
Football Career:
Ndugwa Swaibu kick started his football career as early as at the age of 12 while in primary seven (2010), in a district based soccer academy, Prolen Academy Kayunga. He continued with his career at Namagabi SS, then was spotted Standard High Zzana, but at Entebbe based football hub school, things didn’t work out well then the boy bounce back at Namagabi.
In 2015 he went to Star SS Jjezza, the side he helped to qualify to final tournament of Copa Coca Cola championship that was held in Hoima.
After School, Ndugwa joined Uganda Martyrs Kayunga FC, a third tier side, which later got defunct in 2019, and renamed Bugerere FC, now featuring in fourth division.
With his great talent, Meddie Kisseka who was the head coach of Bugerere football team spot him and he was recruited at the team in 2019, Swaibu he is also on the Sazza’s team that is going to feature in 2020 Masaza Cup edition.
The ambitious attacking mid maestro who takes Former KCCA FC attacking midfielder Allan Okello, Sadam Juma as his home role models and Andres Iniesta as an international role model, is targeting to play professional football in near future.
“My targets are to play in Super League and even international football in the near future.
I use the masaza football as a platform to develop my game.
This is my second season and I hope to improve on my game compared to that of last season.” Ndugwa speaking to Voice of Bugerere, exclusively.
